PIn-UP BEAUTy CHERRy dOllfACE TO MAkE MOTORAMA dEBUT you may not recognize the name cherry Dollface but if you ve ever read a copy of a hot rod or tattoo magazine you ve undoubtedly noticed her face or body art. a beauty in the mould of a classic pin-up model cherry Dollface has been seen on the cover or in profile of over 50 publications has appeared in multiple rock music videos and has been employed in innumerable advertising shoots. and in 2017 she will make her motorama custom car & motorsports Expo Presented by mothers debut. born in california but raised in oregon cherry Dollface entered into the modelling world almost by accident. I co-owned a custom car hot rod shop in washington from 2004 to 2008 and that was what really got me into the car culture said Dollface. over the past 11 years she has appeared at the Grand national roadster the hot rodo-rama the new England shakeup the Good 40 I motoramashow.com From body-man to tin-knocker to racer car builder and automotive restorer al bergler has created a legacy that is the envy of anyone involved in the sport of drag racing. a member of the michigan motorsports hall of Fame bergler began his career by building hot rods and running them on the streets around the Detroit area before taking his racing to the track and competing on the strips of Detroit and motor city Dragways. when everybody went drag racing bergler joined the fraternity eventually finding a home with the renowned Logghe brothers effort. combining the skills of ron and Gene Logghe with his own talent as a body fabricator the trio embarked on a career that would create such innovations as the first flip-top Funny car in the late 1960s. the Logghe brothers were the frame builders and I fabricated the bodies said bergler. we complemented each other. while maintaining a close working relationship with the brothers bergler eventually opened his own shop in 1967 and over the years created high-speed machinery for such drag racing champions as tom mcEwen tommy Ivo and connie Kalitta. Estimating that more than 300 cars have passed through his shop s doors bergler somehow managed to find time to build cars for himself and a host of hired talented drivers. one of his initial creations was the car that earned him the inaugural ridler award at the Detroit autorama show in 1964. a combination of a rail dragster coupled to a closed-cockpit austin bantam body the car dubbed more aggravation carried bergler to several aa comp race victories and the 1966 nhra super Eliminator points title. I ve said that my next car will be my favourite but truly more aggravation will always be my personal favourite expressed bergler. In 1966 this car went 184 miles per hour on gas. It s got a blown 392 chrysler hemi in it pushing out between 1 100 and 1 200 horsepower. continuing to race until 1983 bergler eventually exchanged his comp bantam for several generations of motown shaker nitro Funny cars finally hanging up his firesuit to pursue a slightly less trying pasttime of refurbishing and rebuilding former stars of the strip. one of the projects closest to bergler s heart was the two-year restoration of more aggravation. although deemed too unsafe to race anymore this car has been a featured star at shows from Kentucky to california. For more than 55 years Vaughn has been adored by fans and has amassed an incredible list of experiences as a true industry insider. In the case of Dan woods he definitely falls into the latter category. the tV host actor writer radio broadcaster tV and film producer will be appearing all three days of the upcoming motorama custom car & motorsports Expo Presented by mothers. woods first came to be known to audiences in 1987 playing the stern English teacher (and later principal) mr. raditch on the Emmy award-winning Degrassi television franchise (Degrassi Junior high and Degrassi the next Generation) which continue to be broadcast around the globe. In addition to acting woods who originally hailed from toronto has a passion for automobiles. In 1997 he created hosted wrote and produced classic car restorations for speed channel. and starting in 2003 this pioneer in automotive television was the host and driving force behind chop cut rebuild a documentary how-to format show that featured the restoration and customization of the most popular classic cars in the genre. the show ran for 12 seasons with more than 150 episodes to its credit. since its creation chop cut rebuild has aired in upwards of 30 countries and continues to be televised on maVtV. additionally woods has also overseen all aspects of production as Executive Producer for three other acclaimed tV series street tuner challenge american seduction and First crush. while at motorama woods will sign autographs and participate in some of the discussion panels and awards presentations on the Johnsonville stage. TUCCI HOT ROdS two years ago marcy ny s Dave tucci came to motorama with his incredible 1941 cadillac and a 1970 mustang Fastback. this year he s back (with his son Dom) and they re bringing two amazing vehicles that have wowed crowds at sEma and elsewhere. the 1931 model a sedan rat rod will be located in hall 2 and there s nothing ratty about it. It has a small block chevy V-8 17-inch front tires and massive 20-inch vintage rubber tires in the back. wood slats in the roof are just one highlight of this chopped and lowered beauty. the tuccis other vehicle at motorama will be the 2016 Ford Fiesta st that picked up a bevy of awards at sEma including the Ford special recognition award and a mothers choice shine award for Excellence in automotive Design. the white Fiesta will be located just inside of the main entrance to spring Fever in hall 4. PRO COMP CUSTOM hall 2 will play host to a pair of super-low muscle cars built by bruce harvey s Pro comp custom of Glenshaw Pa. both have been featured at sEma and we re excited to have them make their canadian debut at motorama. Dubbed my Kind of crazy this 1968 camaro debuted in the 2015 battle of the builders at sEma. chopped by six inches (three from the roof and three from the body) this car retains its original lines. It s being brought to the show by current owners amy Puntureri and steve mendenhall. the other Pro comp custom car is a 1970 charger named soLo. It turned heads at sEma last november and drew crowds at the Detroit autorama just a few weeks ago. under the hood is a 730 horsepower Dodge r5 nascar motor but it s the car s low stance that you ll remember. JACk BATEMAn Last fall at the PrI show in Indianapolis we bumped into orillia on resident Jack bateman who mentioned that he owns a land speed car that he believes will go 300 mph on the bonneville salt Flats once it has its new twin turbos installed. Looking like a 26-foot black needle with a red checkered flag on its side it s a safe bet you ve never seen anything like this car before up close. be sure to check it out in hall 2.
