Media Kit 2016 About Pilcrow & Dagger Pilcrow & Dagger is a literary magazine dedicated to featuring the works of authors previously published or unpublished from around the globe. We launched our website http in September 2014. There you will find our submission requirements the themes for our issues and meet the staff. Our site also hosts our blog. We write about things that will help writers how to write crime scenes what is Point of View grammar tips characterization phobias and things writers might include in their works. In October 2014 author Melissa Snark reposted her famed Cat Lawsuit letters on our blog. Then in November in honor of National Novel Writing Month we teamed with author Kristen Lamb author AJ Lape author Liz Schulte retired publisher Jerry Constantino and author Amber Skye Forbes to write a round-robin story. It was fantastic All of which you can read on the blog. We launched our first issue in January 2015. We marketed to writers groups through around the world and through social media for writers to submit their fictional short stories non-fiction short stories essays and poetry. We publish 8 issues each year. Each issue has a unique theme and we receive submissions from around the globe Australia New Zealand the UK Israel Spain Nairobi Thailand Korea Canada Italy Germany and the United States. The first issue is available online on our site. Each issue is preceded with a Sneak Peek and a Video Preview available on our website and social media. The issues are available in digital form and print. They can be purchased as annual subscriptions or individual magazines. In each issue we select a short story to be produced as a podcast also available on our website and social media. Page 6 Delivery Specifications We layout and build our magazine in Microsoft Word. PRINT & DIGITAL Send documents in Microsoft Word attachment. Send PDF of desired final look. Layout may need to be redesigned as close as possible to final product look in case of incompatible programs. Digital issues of Pilcrow & Dagger are published in color. Print issues of Pilcrow & Dagger are published in black and white. Submitted materials should be in the size specifications of final product. All elements of layered art should be sent along with the final product. Artwork and photography send 300 dpi as a minimum png or jpg. PODCAST Send copy as Microsoft Word or PDF attachment. Podcast ads are read and recorded. Copy should be 30 seconds maximum when read aloud. Editing the material without denigrating the product s or service s integrity may occur to keep advertisement within time guidelines. WEBSITE Send copy as .jpg .png is okay too 300 X 250 pxs. Include website we can link to your ad. Space is limited so web ad may not run concurrent with print ad but will run the same length of time.
